1961 Pontiac Bonneville

1961 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible
Big, bold, and built to cruise, this 1961 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible captures everything that made full-size American luxury cars of the era so special. Finished in elegant black over a striking blue and white interior, its sweeping body lines, generous brightwork, and wide whitewall tires give this Bonneville the kind of presence that makes you want to drop the top and hit the town.
The Bonneville name first appeared on a limited-production performance model in 1957 before becoming its own series for 1958. It quickly rose to the top of Pontiac’s lineup, combining the division’s growing performance reputation with the comfort, size, and upscale appointments expected from a flagship automobile. By 1961, the Bonneville represented Pontiac at its most confident—powerful, stylish, and unmistakably American.
Under the hood is Pontiac’s legendary 389 CI V8 paired with a 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, delivering the smooth V8 power and effortless road manners perfectly suited to a car of this size and character. Power steering and power brakes make cruising easy, while the power-operated convertible top lets you open the car up and enjoy the drive at the touch of a switch.
Inside, the blue and white interior is pure early-1960s Americana. Expansive seating, a sweeping dashboard, and classic Pontiac appointments create an inviting atmosphere where the experience is less about rushing to your destination and more about enjoying the road getting there.
For the buyer who appreciates the grand American convertibles of the early 1960s, this Bonneville delivers the experience in a way few cars can. Drop the top, settle into that blue and white interior, bring the 389 V8 to life, and enjoy the effortless feeling of a true full-size cruiser. Whether it’s an evening downtown or a long Sunday drive, this ’61 Bonneville turns the simple act of going for a drive into something worth looking forward to.
